Terrible ham fisted acting. Just an absolute waste of time. Had some score that made it feel like I was watching a Spielberg film, real hopeful music, plus the sci-fi premise seemed roght up my alley, but between the god awful acting and the shitty cgi monster, there wasn't enough to keep me watching. I enjoyed this up until the very end. **[SPOILERS AHEAD]** The final episode got so predictable that it pulled me out of the show. Anneliese stabs Judy and of course they drag her along to the trap house "in case they need a bargaining chip". Then she dies in the same room as Mother and... Despite the engaging first few episodes, you'll understand by the end that you have watched lame euthanasia commercial in 8 episodes.
If you're going to watch this show chiefly for sci-fi/action of course you're going to be disappointed. There were so many themes and messages that you'd overlook. This was a really heartwarming story where everyone has their moment to shine, all characters are likeable, and the story focuses on older folks as the heros without making being old the butt of a joke.
Story's interesting, characters are well developed and production is good, however this modern decayed American culture is ruining the show - couple that have an open relationship (having sex with others), husband who is making a dinner while wife is resting and reading a book, young man who is having a relationship with older woman. It feels like everything that is wrong is being normalized in their rotten society and everything that is normal and traditional is being erased…
